My Fall 2022 Capsule Wardrobe & 30 Wears Challenge

Image
I am doing a 30 wears challenge where I wear items from my Fall 2022 Capsule Wardrobe 30 times before I decide whether to keep, pass along or toss each item. Now, in order for me to actually toss an item, it has to be beyond redemption...meaning there is no way to up-cycle the item into a new item. Without further ado, let's see what is in my Fall Capsule Wardrobe shall we? It consists of 20 items not including jewelry or scarves. However I do show them so you can see how I am adding some flair to my outfits. Tops include:  White button-down shirt from Shezia Maroon and Leopard pocketed T-shirt from Shein Black rib-knit tank top from Frank & Oak Sequinned Calvin Klein sleeveless shell bought secondhand from Tipsy Palm, a local consignment store. Black and White T-shirts purchased at Dollarama Bottoms include: Trouser-cut, wide-legged Jeans from Banana republic Leopard Leggings from So Cozy Black Trousers from Ricki's  Black Jeggings from Old Navy Black Leggings from Costco/

Selfcare: Taking Care of My Feet

Image
I was inspired by my recent self care post to do a self care series where I share what I do, and use, to care for different parts of my body. I thought I would literally start at the bottom. I am notorious for not wearing socks in my foot ware, except for my gym shoes, and my heels, the balls of my feet and my big toes bare the brunt of it. I often get dry scaly heels and cracks in my skin in the balls of my feet and toes which can be quite deep and sore. I know I should take better care of my feet and plan to do so once I can renew them to their former soft skinned selves. Here are pictures of my poor feet before:   First I filed my feet with a Cala foot paddle from Shop Miss A, then I took my Micro Pedi foot sander to finely file my dry skin. The final step was to add an ointment to soften my skin and put on some socks so the ointment would stay where it was applied. The ointment I used is an old one from Avon: I am not even sure if this line still exists but I am sure they still ha

How to Mix Sample Perfume with Essential Oils to Create A Fragrance That is Perfectly You!!

Image
I have a lot of tiny vials of sample perfumes. Personally I do not like using them in the dab-on format. I prefer the samples that have either a roller ball or spray mechanism. So what do I do with all of these samples? I don't want to waste them, so I decided to get some essential oils from Shop Miss A, for about a dollar each, to mix with the sample scents to bring out the notes I want to enhance. For example, I have a sample of Atelier Cologne in Oud Saphir:    The printing on the tiny vial is so small, and unfortunately I can't make it any sharper.  According to Fragrantica.com, the top notes are Pink Pepper, Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and Bergamot. The middle notes are Suede, Birch and Jasmine. Finally the base notes are Birch, Agarwood (Oud) and Vanilla.  The notes I want to accentuate are the woody, floral and citrus notes. Along with Alcohol, I will mix Jojoba oil as a carrier oil, Gardenia, Lemongrass, Bergamot, and Cedarwood oils:   Gardenia will bring out the floral note
