My 10 Piece Year-round Basics Capsule Wardrobe

Today I am sharing my 10 Piece Year-Round Basics Capsule Wardrobe.

To be clear, these are not the only things I wear all year, I do add other pieces to wear as well. This year, because I had my colour analysis done, I am going to create monthly capsules around my basics to get some final wear on some items that do not fit into my colour palette.

Two weeks ago I did a post about getting my colours done and you can click the link above to read that post and see what my palette is. Now to show what my basic year-round wardrobe consists of.

Tops:

1. Black Hi-Low Sweater (old favourite): The back hem is lower than the front and is a nice light sweater great for layering.

2. White Button-down Shirt from Shezia: A boxier fit which is what I prefer to fitted options.

3. Black T-shirt from Buttercream Clothing, a Canadian slow-fashion brand: A simple, boxy fit top with a boatneck style "collar".

4. White V-neck T-shirt from Old Navy: not much needs to be said about this one.

5. Black Dressy Sweatshirt from Encircled, another Canadian slow-fashion brand: A sweatshirt you can wear to work as it is similar to a jersey material rather than fleecy cotton.

Bottoms:

1. Black Maxi Skirt (old favourite): A lightweight skirt that can also be worn as a shorter strapless dress.

2. Skinny Boyfriend Jeans from Old Navy: This one has some whiskering detail and some "patches" on legs.

3. Black Leggings from Shapermint: A nice, high-waisted legging that also compresses your figure and gives a slimming effect.

4. Navy Dressy Sweatpants from Encircled: A pair of sweatpants that have a dressier trouser look so can be worn to work.

5. Black Trousers from Ricki's: your basic black trouser.

I just decided to split my wardrobe up into this mini capsule, and monthly capsules to add on. I blended January into February so I will share what I added to this capsule at the end of February when I can share some outfits.

Do you create wardrobe capsules?
