Sunny Side Up!

It never fails, as soon as is comes on the radio or on my playlist, I start to move out of pure joy.  Those songs are:  "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. When I was a kid, my friend and I would pretend to be the female singers from ABBA and would dance and lip sync to this and many other of their hits.  "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. Need I say more?  iT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ Hands down the best non-foundation foundation out there!! It pains me to say that because it costs $52 to $78 Canadian. I am not overly fussy about foundation or base products, but I know a good one when I try it...I just wish it didn't cost so much.  In its defence, it does have skin care benefits and serious SPF protection, although I would still layer it over an SPF lotion; I never rely on SPF in my foundation alone.  Granted, if you are more particular about your base products and also love this one, you probably don't bat an eyelash at the price. With so many foundations, tinted moisturizers and BB/CC creams out there, I am bound and determined to find one I love as much at a lower price. However, failing that, I will bite the bullet and repurchase this one. I just wish my Holy Grail Foundation wasn't an expensive one!! However, compared to La Mer foundations at $138 to $156 Canadian, I guess $78 is not so bad...

When we get weighed down by the minutiae surrounding us, be it from work, family, life or all of the above, it can be hard to see that we are surrounded by God.  It is when we are quiet, not necessarily still that we are able to see God around us...in the sky, the clouds, the trees, the leaves, the birds, etc. I feel closer to God when I am walking in nature. And it is when we are still, that we can see that God is within us, speaking to us with unheard words...our thoughts, our dreams, our purpose. This is often the toughest thing to do, be still. In a world of "what have you done for me lately", we feel out of touch if we take any time to sit and be quiet, to purposely listen for our own thoughts.  That is one of the goals I want to accomplish this year, is to meditate every morning before I get up.  I will start by layin...

It keeps me from getting bored with my clothes and I sometimes adopt certain aspects that I particularly like on myself. What is Euro-chic style you ask? Well according to sew-stitch-learn.com, it encompasses "quality and sophistication with fashion forward edginess". Think Yves St. Laurent ads circa 1970's. Actress Catherine Deneuve epitomized this style. The more modern muse for this style is Kate Moss. She has a casually chic style with a Rock and Roll edge to it. Effortless, classic and modern...that is Euro-Chic style today. I look forward to dressing fancier than I have been these past couple of years with being home after CoVid took over the world. I don't make resolutions as they don't tend to stick for more than a couple of weeks or so. They are usually lofty and destined to fail. I like to set goals that are realistic for me and have a better chance of getting realized. For instance, I want to read about a book a month, or 12 books next year. I will include a couple of meatier books along with some easier reads that may only take me a couple of weeks. To me, that is realistic. I was going to  create a new workout for this year, but I am enjoying the one I am doing so I decided to carry on with that one for the entire year.  One thing I have found as I am getting older, is that setting a couple of goals, rather than four or five (etc.), is better for me. No one enjoys failure, but by putting too much on our plate at once, sets us up for just that...and it does noth...
