Empty Review: Dead Sea Collection Collagen Anti-Aging Day Cream

Image
Today I am sharing my empty of the Dead Sea Collection Collagen Anti-Aging Day Cream that I purchased at Dollarama to mix with my original Urban Decay Naked Foundation (why it has a tint to it). This was an awesome moisturizing cream on its own accord, but it absolutely saved the Urban Decay foundation (mentioned above) from being decluttered because it looked so dry and crappy on my skin. When my foundation no longer pumped out of the bottle, I added it to the cream in the tub and mixed them together, as I had been doing on my metal palette. I knew because I was planning to mix a cream with my foundation, I did not want to spend a lot of money. However, I did not expect that for $4, it would be so nice!! Unfortunately, I have not been able to find it at a few of the Dollarama stores I frequent here in my city.  They only get so much skin care items as it is, and most of them are masks or cleansers. I do not know of any retailers that normally carry Dead Sea Collection products off...

Easy Holiday Glam Makeup

Image
Happy Holidays!! Today I am sharing my easy makeup looks for the holiday season. Both looks use only 1-3 shadows/glitter. Look #1 Bronze Babe: On eyes: Pat McGrath Shadow in Bronzed Mink, from the Celestial Nirvana 5 Shadow Palette in Bronze Bliss. In the inner corner I added Copper Pressed Glitter from Teayason. I love a one-shadow look 90% of the time. Sometimes I will use two shadows or a shadow and a glitter. There is the odd time when I will use three shades/media on my eyelids. Look #2 Green and Gorgeous: For this look I used the Viseart Petit Fours palette in Peridot. I used  Greenlight all over the eyelid over and above the crease. Then I added Gimlet to the middle of my lid and inner corner. This is a quick way to get a the look of a halo eye but without the fuss. On my brow bone I used my Starburst Highlight from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugarglow palette. I used my project pan products on the rest of my face: Face Primer is the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer; Eye ...

Spring 2022 Project Pan

Image
If you are wondering what the heck a Project Pan is, it is predominantly a project to use up your makeup before it expires, particularly those makeup items that are liquid or cream based. However, you can also add items from skincare, body care and hair care categories. Project panning can take on several forms as well. The main one is the "Rolling Year-long Project Pan" which consists of selecting a certain number of products, usually 5 -10, at one time then adding in new ones as you reach your goal on others. Other projects include seasonal, cream, palette and "Deck of Panning" projects. Currently I am working on a blend of the rolling year-long and seasonal projects. My goal is use up as many as I can, but certain items I roll in and out seasonally. Shown below are the makeup and skincare items I am panning/using up this year: As I mentioned above I am doing a blend of rolling year-long and seasonal project pans. Most of my makeup items such as primers, foundatio...

What I Use to Make A Dry Foundation Work For Me

Image
I am currently using the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup. On its own it leaves kind of a dry and patchy film on my skin (this foundation is no longer available as it has been reformulated and renamed to Stay Naked). So to counteract that, I add a moisturizing cream that I found at Dollarama. The Dead Sea Collection Collagen Anti-Aging Day Cream. I love this stuff and for just $4 it is a legit face cream! To add some glow, I add in a luminescent product. This one from AOA Studio was purchased in a pack of 5 for $7 from Shop Miss A , a discount makeup site.  Together, these products make a beautiful and hydrating base for my makeup.

NAKED Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup

Urban Decay is one of my favourite makeup brands. I love their eyeshadows most of all! This foundation has since been reformulated and renamed to Stay NAKED Weightless Liquid Foundation.  Since this foundation is no longer available, it is part of my Project Pan for 2022. It is a lightweight, light coverage foundation. I like the lightweight base products as I do not like to feel my makeup on my face. I will probably purchase the new formulation at some point but I have to get through other foundations before I purchase a new one.  Have you tried the Stay Naked foundation? Is it the same or different? Do/did you like it?

The Best Makeup Base I Have Ever Tried!!

Image
iT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ Hands down the best non-foundation foundation out there!! It pains me to say that because it costs $52 to $78 Canadian. I am not overly fussy about foundation or base products, but I know a good one when I try it...I just wish it didn't cost so much.  In its defence, it does have skin care benefits and serious SPF protection, although I would still layer it over an SPF lotion; I never rely on SPF in my foundation alone.  Granted, if you are more particular about your base products and also love this one, you probably don't bat an eyelash at the price. With so many foundations, tinted moisturizers and BB/CC creams out there, I am bound and determined to find one I love as much at a lower price. However, failing that, I will bite the bullet and repurchase this one. I just wish my Holy Grail Foundation wasn't an expensive one!! However, compared to La Mer foundations at $138 to $156 Canadian, I guess $78 is not so bad...
