Sunny Side Up!

So now that we are in the Autumn season, I thought I would share the last look from this series: My White Blazer from Ricki's Here is the same white blazer from Ricki's that I featured in the last four posts of this kind. The outfit pictured below is from the "The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style" by Kim France and Andrea Linett. I do not have any of these items. So of course I improvised: I wore my black t-shirt maxi-dress from Emerallda; The White Blazer adds the colour blocking effect that the original dress has. Instead of the short booties, I went with my tall black boots from Payless. For the clutch purse, I went with my knock-off Bottega Venetta Pouch purse from Ewelyni. Of all the outfits featured in this series, this was my least favourite outfit articulation. Hygge is a Danish term for adding a "quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being" (Oxford Dictionary). Mostly this is achieved through decorative expression which creates a feeling of welcome and hospitality, and most of all, comfort. Expressing your personality through decor, from everyday to special occasions such as holidays, makes not only you feel comfortable in your home, but others see a part of you in your environment. This first picture is of the shelves in our Powder Room above the toilet. It's fun to add a little holiday flare to unexpected areas of the condo.   Image Courtesy of Google Images and Bored Panda Most adults don't dress up for Halloween unless they have children or they are throwing a Halloween Party. I love how the family in the picture above dressed up as Scooby Doo characters. Last Year Hubby and I hosted a Halloween Party and dressed up in costumes. Hubby went as Mr. Clean and I dressed up in an outfit from the 1950's, with a poodle skirt and saddle shoes. The party was a lot of fun. We had neighbours and friends come over, some dressed some not. We lit small fire works and sparklers. It was one of the best parties we've had since CoVid turned our world upside down.  This Halloween we will probably take it easy and just watch our favourite horror movies: Halloween, Witches of Eastwick and Interview With a Vampire...oh and probably Dracula Dead And Loving It for some comic relief.  Are you dressing up this Halloween?

For Canada that time comes on the first Monday in October. The above quote says it all...when we count our blessings, we see the abundance in our lives and that gratitude makes our life better, even when external forces try to bring us down. But how can we extend this feeling beyond just one day a year? Anytime you get a chance to be thankful for what you have, you extend that feeling of abundance in your life. When you feel abundant, your desire for more is replaced by a feeling of enough, or even that of wealth. This may sound trite, but when you think of just one thing you are grateful for each day, your mood is lifted and your day can feel more productive and full.  Happy Thanksgiving!  

This was the first cleansing balm that I ever tried. I really loved how easily it took my makeup off.  I used this as the first step in a nightly double-cleanse routine. I bought two tins of this balm and was convinced that this was the product I wanted to use to remove my makeup going forward. However, I heard about another cleansing balm that I am now a big fan of. I am currently using that product now and it has knocked this balm off the Holy Grail throne...sorry Body Shop! I am not saying that I wouldn't repurchase this balm again in the future, but it would have to be a special sale, and the other balm would have to be sold out in order to repurchase this one. This tin retails for $9 CAD, and the other retails for $5 CAD for a deeper tub of product. If I come across a 2 for 1, or 3 for 2 sale at The Body Shop, I would definitely repurchase this cleansing balm again. Especially because the other balm is sold out quite a lot on the other website.
