Empties Review: Luna Bliss Natural Deodorant

Image
The Rustic Maka Luna Bliss Natural Deodorant is baking soda free and contains charcoal and magnesium. It is a round container, rather than the usual oval shape, and the deodorant is wound up from the base. This product worked just fine but I did not like how soft it was, nor how messy it was. It was grey in colour because of the charcoal ingredient. It was softer than usual deodorant sticks and it melted when it came in contact with the heat of my skin. Due to this softness, the stick would be better kept in a cool environment such as a fridge. Unless you own a skincare fridge, it would be rather inconvenient to keep it in a standard fridge in the kitchen. The rim would often get covered in the grey deodorant and just looked unsavoury. I received this deodorant in a Petit Vour subscription box and it is both a clean and cruelty free product. In spite of this, I would not purchase this deodorant again due to the messiness of it.  Have you tried this deordorant? What did you think of...

Products I Plan to Pan in 2023

Image
In this post I will share what I plan to pan in 2023; Some of them which I don't manage to finish this year, as well as new products that will replace those products. Let's start with the products I would start with primers: The e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer is what I am currently panning; Once I am done with this primer I will work on the e.l.f. Prep & Hydrate Balm.  Now let's look at foundations:  The Ordinary Colours Foundation is only about half finished. I predict that I will be about 3/4 finished by the end of this year. Once I finish it, I will start using the CoverGirl Clean Liquid Foundation until it is used up. That will probably take me most, if not all, of next year to finish. Concealers: Two more e.l.f. products: The 16HR Camo Concealer in Fair Beige is too light to use all over my face but I use it in the places that I want to brighten. I don't use a lot of it and so I think it will last not only the rest of this year but most of next year as well. I do...

My Thoughts On Remembrance

Image
Image courtesy of Google Images and Peakpx Every November 11th, we take a moment of our day to remember those who fought for our freedom. Many whom have lost loved ones who fought or served in the national armed forces, will attend formal services to commemorate their service to our country. Another Armistice Day has passed with a war being fought between two nations, and one of them has been Russia. Thankfully the Ukrainian forces have had more victories; With many western countries supporting them with weapons, and some kind of vehicle to deliver such weapons, they will continue to have more. What are the Russians fighting for? Land that Putin wants to take from Ukraine...and eventually Ukraine itself back under the Iron Curtain of Communism? Why? To show how big and powerful Putin's Russia is? The last lilliputian dictator that pulled this stunt was Napoleon Bonaparte!! It didn't work out so well for him in the end, and I am pretty sure that Putin will be served a similar ...

My Autumn 2022 Makeup Project Pan

Image
It has been a little while since I last updated this blog with what I am currently panning in my seasonal project pan. In fact, the last post was for my spring project pan! I have since used up the Urban Decay Primer Potion eye primer and Naked Skin foundation, The Dead Sea Collection Collagen Anti-aging Day Cream (which I mixed with the foundation), the CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops in Rose Gold, and the NYX Professional Highlighters in Cream and Soft Light. I am still working on the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer and I now have a significant pan in the centre of the tub. In place of the UD Primer Potion, I am panning the Physician's Formula Matte Eye Primer. It is pretty good, and less expensive than the Primer Potion. I am also still panning the e.l.f. 16HR Camo Concealer in Fair Beige, and the Full Cover Concealer Corrector from an unknown brand. The foundation I am working on now is The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation in 2.0N Light Medium.  I like this foundation and...

One Jacket. 4 Looks - Autumn

Image
So now that we are in the Autumn season, I thought I would share the last look from this series: My White Blazer from Ricki's Here is the same white blazer from Ricki's that I featured in the last four posts of this kind. The outfit pictured below is from the "The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style" by Kim France and Andrea Linett. I do not have any of these items. So of course I improvised: I wore my black t-shirt maxi-dress from Emerallda; The White Blazer adds the colour blocking effect that the original dress has. Instead of the short booties, I went with my tall black boots from Payless. For the clutch purse, I went with my knock-off Bottega Venetta Pouch purse from Ewelyni. Of all the outfits featured in this series, this was my least favourite outfit articulation. However, I would wear this out for a date with my husband, but not a formal event.  In future posts I plan to share my seasonal capsule wardrobes at the beginning of each season, and share what I wore...

Skulls, Acorns, and Pumpkins...Oh My!

Image
Hygge is a Danish term for adding a "quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being" (Oxford Dictionary). Mostly this is achieved through decorative expression which creates a feeling of welcome and hospitality, and most of all, comfort. Expressing your personality through decor, from everyday to special occasions such as holidays, makes not only you feel comfortable in your home, but others see a part of you in your environment. This first picture is of the shelves in our Powder Room above the toilet. It's fun to add a little holiday flare to unexpected areas of the condo. All of the Glitter pumpkins and the skull were purchased at Dollarama, so you definitely do not have to spend a lot of money when decorating your space.  This is a picture of our coffee table. The candle holder stand was purchased from a homewares company that direct sales items to people through the party circuit, similar to Partylite; The candle...

Do You Still Dress Up For Halloween?

Image
Image Courtesy of Google Images and Bored Panda Most adults don't dress up for Halloween unless they have children or they are throwing a Halloween Party. I love how the family in the picture above dressed up as Scooby Doo characters. Last Year Hubby and I hosted a Halloween Party and dressed up in costumes. Hubby went as Mr. Clean and I dressed up in an outfit from the 1950's, with a poodle skirt and saddle shoes. The party was a lot of fun. We had neighbours and friends come over, some dressed some not. We lit small fire works and sparklers. It was one of the best parties we've had since CoVid turned our world upside down.  This Halloween we will probably take it easy and just watch our favourite horror movies: Halloween, Witches of Eastwick and Interview With a Vampire...oh and probably Dracula Dead And Loving It for some comic relief.  Are you dressing up this Halloween?
